Supporting Students & Families
Through the Transition
A successful transition is about much more than moving into a different building. BCSD is planning for how students will experience the change academically, socially and emotionally while ensuring families have the information they need along the way.

Helping Students Make the Transition
As students from existing school communities come together, the District will consider opportunities for students to meet and become familiar with new classmates, teachers and school environments. Transition activities and other supports will be developed as plans become more specific.
Classroom & School Information
Questions involving classroom assignments, class sizes, school schedules, transportation, breakfast and lunch, programs and other daily routines are part of the transition work. Some of these details cannot be finalized until enrollment, staffing and operational planning are further along.
Rather than provide information prematurely, BCSD will update families as those decisions are confirmed.
Getting Familiar With the New Schools
Later phases of the transition include planning for Open Houses, community walk-throughs and other opportunities to help students and families become comfortable with the buildings and their new routines before Opening Day.
Staying Informed
Families should continue to monitor this website and regular BCSD communications. Important information affecting individual students or families will also be communicated directly when appropriate.
